Attention all men (and all women who consider their man an accessory): Celebrate! High-end super-cool menswear is no longer a thing of the past.
Somewhat of a Melbourne institution, brothers Adam and Mickey Gjinaj’s label Genae has given menswear a new lease on life. Using some of the best mills in Europe to produce their fabrics, before Genae, they served time at Calibre and Bettina Liano.
This season, expect plenty of clean lines, block colours, and crisp tailoring in their lust-have blazers, vests, shirts, shorts and more.
Their Top Three Commandments for Menswear:
1. Never compromise on quality. Always buy made in Australia. Never buy made in China. Buy Genae.
2. Don’t look to footballers for fashion tips, and buy Italian Vogue once in a while. Don’t follow trends that don’t suit you. Never wear yellow if you have pasty skin. Be comfortable with what you wear.
3. Don’t let your girlfriend/wife tell you something doesn’t look good when it clearly does. Grow some balls.
