My Savvy

I’ve got half-frizzy, half-straight hair… although, I think it could be curly if I used the right product. In your opinion what is the best thing to enhance my curls and loose the frizz?

Dear Frizz-Head,
I totally sympathise with you having to straddle between the straight world and the kinky. I, too, had this problem for the earlier part of my life and I learnt that the first step to self-acceptance of your condition is to get a good style cut from a professional hairdresser.
A good hairdresser should know how to shape your style in a way that makes the most of your hair’s unique texture. Then, once you have your spankin’ new look, control the frizzies by ensuring that you don’t blow-dry with your dryer set to too hot – over-drying will bring on the frizzies.
To enhance curl without frizz, it’s vital that the tips of your hair aren’t crumpled by your brush when blow-drying, or it will end up with frizzy ends – don’t wind your hair around the brush starting at the top of your hair as most people do. Rather, start with the brush half way up the hair length and keep turning your brush until you reach the point where your ends naturally curl around the brush, leaving the tips free. Also remember that deep, sexy curls require moisture, so use a specialised regime like KMS California Curl Up range, and control frizz through humidity with KMS Anti-humidity Spray. After all, only dick-heads need pube-like hair!
