For the next 45 to 60 days results on the current voting will be unofficial.

Due to overwhelming requests we are taking some major steps with the Is She Hot contest.

To do this we need time, which means for the next 45 to 60 days results on the current voting will be Unofficial. In basic terms winners during this development time will not be eligible for any prizes or qualification to the finals.

The two main issues we will be dealing with during this redesign are:

1) More interaction; we are developing and will be deploying technology that will allow contestants to reach out and communicate better with their current and new fan base. This won’t be just like recommend this links, but technology that will allow users and contestants to really communicate, both online and on Mobile devices.

2) Cheaters; we do catch them, all of them, but it has become such a labor intensive effort that we are building in an automated system. This system will allow our development team more time to concentrate on building new technology that will make your experience at Savvy even better.

Release of the new system is scheduled for September 2008, we will keep you updated on the progress. Please stay with us.

Why have a 10 point scale?
by kewlcat on 08/01/2008, 13:32 (edited)

If you vote someone a 1 then you are blocked from voting onthat person for 30 days.....I know why that is done...to prevent downvoting, but if someone is really unatrractive, what is the lowest score you can give them?

I don't think anyone is actually listening, but...
by imagic on 07/29/2008, 12:01

It's one thing to make the voting unofficial-I think others have made it clear what we think of that-but the girls who entered the contest just before the freeze are not showing in the leader board, which means that the ones there now, some that have surely been massaging the system from the looks of things, are getting more exposure than those who would be at the top but are not showing at all.

Either take all girls out of the leader board, or continue to update it with the unofficial scores so the others can get the front page exposure too.

examine the behavior

I could be wrong, but I think the fact that these comments have received no response could just possibly mean something. Like, for example, no one is listening.

Is anyone listening?

Well, now you've done it...
by eugenew on 07/24/2008, 20:23

Congrats to the Savvy staff...you've just successfully PISSED OFF every single member of this site! I mean, really...you've seriously just aggravated a good 95% of your members...possibly more. Are you serious here? Unofficial voting? In this day of the Internet and being able to spread bad news like WILDFIRE, do you really want to anger so many people who have been loyal to your site for so long? I wouldn't advise it. Rethink this and rethink it quick...because you have no idea as to how quick your credibility can become NOTHING just by the people who are here. Think about it and consider the advice of Cheekyboy. Suspend voting and then resume. Later...

updating
by umpfred on 07/23/2008, 01:26

This is categorically wrong. Sure, you should improve the voting process to eliminate cheating but that should have been done before now. To declare the voting for the month unofficial when the month is two thirds over is wrong. You should make corrections at the start of a month and let everyone know the rules and cheating will not be tolorated.

alternative
by cheekyboy on 07/20/2008, 18:50

"To do this we need time, which means for the next 45 to 60 days results on the current voting will be Unofficial. In basic terms winners during this development time will not be eligible for any prizes or qualification to the finals."

i think the best alternative to this is just to SUSPEND VOTING for the next 45 to 60 days... meaning no additional votes and no winners in the interim... maintain the current results and RESUME voting when your upgraded system is in place...

oh.. and TIME EXTENSION to make up for the lost days...

that'll at least be fair to contestants and voters.

it may not be the best option, but certainly better than to continue to allow unofficial votes... THERE'S NO POINT IN HAVING VOTES / RESULTS UNOFFICIAL ... it's like saying "you've won. but it doesn't count"

savvy site
by steve_181243 on 07/20/2008, 03:53

thanks then for wasting my valuable time and effort to vote. Make my votes unnofficial then, I will no longer be voting or participating in or on the site. If my votes dont count then the contest is null and void and an apology is due all savvy members and contestants for the slap in the face to all of us. You cannot change any rules during the game and to do so makes savvy look incompetent and unprofessional.
Have Fun!

This is just not ok, and It's illegal
by ashlee1 on 07/19/2008, 21:04

False advertisement if you will!
When I was made aware of this contest at a convetion, I was urged to join it! Not only have I worked really hard at it, but I have gathered all of my fans from myspace, and dragged their butts over here! When you promise a winner every month, along with a trip/photoshoot etc. you have to follow through. Otherwise you break the law in false advertisement! This makes savvy not only look bad, but very unprofessional. I'm doubting so much now in your promises. You have had staff leave, and so maybe this is an excuse to delay time so that you can hire the proper people needed for shoot, and other things.....
I'm excited about YOUR new features on here, but what about US? yes, US! The models that hoped for this month, or next. This is the wrong course of action, and to me is cheating!

by question on 07/19/2008, 18:57

This isn't the best course of action, the improvements are welcome but ultimately disingenuous to past competitors.

I have lost a ton of freinds off of this site because of the issue listed above but the site improvements won't make them feel like returning, it will make them feel justified in leaving.

Saqvvy instead should just continue to eliminate trolls and or lurkers. If you have a person voting daily 10's for one or two models and 1's for 20 other people... guess what? That's a cheat. A zombie if you will. Invalidate their votes. It can't be that hard.

Besides, elimination of the numbering system means that someone cannot make a clean distinction between competitors. And isn't that what this contest is supposed to be about? Who is the best, the top in personality and appearance? How could that be defined without numbers?

Before you say anything about my votes check my page. All 10's.

This doesn't seem right...

and I still have Questions...

To change the contest rules now more than midway through the year would be the worst thing that could possibly be done. For something as big as this the rules have to remain firm throughout. Either that or all of the results would need to be thrown out and the contest restarted.

Do I like downvoting?
No.
Do I down vote?
No.

However if Savvy were to change the main vote mechanic halfway through the contest, they would loose credibility. That's why the vote results are certified and zombie votes thrown out. Is the system perfect? That's of course debateable, but it's the exact same grading scale that is used on any conest of the like that I have seen.

Sorry but I completely disagree unless with this option unless Savvy wants to reboot the contest entirely, and in such a case legally I believe that would mean at least 18 contestants headed to the finals not to mention the potential for lawsuits and huge embarrassment for the biggest thing to happen to this website ever.

and btw, i agree with max below
by sweetlilsouthern on 07/19/2008, 12:41

i agress with max. all thenew upcoming interactions sound great, it will definitely make it easier to contact those we want to. but i do not find a good reason in making voting unofficial during this period.....it would be nice if the savvy mods would reconsider that part!!

Get rid of those cheats!!
by sweetlilsouthern on 07/19/2008, 12:40

great. im glad you are dealing with the cheaters, cuz I know that's why some of these women have the scores they have. In my opinion, it is DEFINITELY one of your major issues.

cheaters make winning hard and almost impossible for honest and hard-working women like myself . i hope those who know they are at fault and see this, KEEP THAT IN MIND.

THANKS

She has a very good reason for wanting to win this contest and has such talent and a good heart. She has always wanted to help others and this would be a dream come true for her.
