Sit Tight, Savvy Says
This new verification process is Savvy’s way of making absolutely certain there are no end-of-month technical irregularities detected in the voting system before making an official declaration. Previously, winners were instantly declared at the end of each voting period.
This is the announcement that you have been awaiting with baited breath, holding tight to the edge of your seats, chewing your nails in nervous anticipation - Here at Savvy, we’re set to announce the first contender in their Search for the Million Dollar Woman, the January winner of Is She Hot.
Someone older, and inevitably wiser, once said that good things come to those who wait. This is true – think of your mum’s slow-cooked roast, the joy of finding out the sex of your first-born, and the envelope filled to the brim with no return address mailed courtesy of your friend holidaying in Columbia. All fine examples of good things coming to those who wait. In keeping with this tradition, dear Savvy Readers, you’re just going to have to wait that little bit longer to find out which lucky lady made the grade to make the million. 24 hours longer to be precise.
Why? Because we want to make sure that all’s fair in love and war, and we need 24-hours to do that. As the incredibly handsome and insightful Savvy CEO, Jonathan Gravenor, made clear in his article Crackdown on Cheats, our technical team need to ensure that there has been no ‘funny business’. This new verification process is Savvy’s way of making absolutely certain there are no end-of-month technical irregularities detected in the voting system before making an official declaration. Previously, winners were instantly declared at the end of each voting period.
As you know, this month’s victor will be flown to Sydney a year from now to meet, an compete against, the other finalists in a bid to earn the title of Savvy’s Million Dollar Woman (and to take home the cash). Her success, Savvy Readers, is solely in your hands.
Be in it to win it
The February 2008 contest period began at midnight Pacific Standard Time Zone (GMT-8) with contestants from January automatically re-entered -- minus those who have let their profiles slip into inactivity since Savvy launched its new platform in early January. The resetting of the contest period coincides with this scheduled purge to rid the roster of any contestants who signed up for the Is She Hot? contest weeks or months ago but have failed to agree to the new contest terms and conditions.
Those women who are already Savvy members and wish to compete in Is She Hot? can do so by visiting http://savvy.com/is_she_hot/signup
But wait, there’s more…
Beginning with the February 2008 contest period now underway, Solomodels.com, Savvy’s Search for the Million Dollar Woman Partner, is awarding 100 runner-ups in the Is She Hot? contest a free Titanium account, thanks to Solomodels. This has a retail value of approximately $200 for each of these contestants – and will add up to about a quarter of a million dollars during 2008!
Additionally, Solomodels.com is giving another 10 free accounts each to photographers selected by the Savvy.com editorial board as part of the Savvy Editors’ Choice Awards.
Details on the Editors’ Choice Awards will be announced next week.
