Savvy’s “Is She Hot?” winner Zarah has her sights set on stardom as she prepares to boldly make the move from Florida to Los Angeles.“It’s for real,” she told Savvy. “I’m moving in September to start my career. I’m meeting with agents, doing acting classes two days a week. I know I’m ready for the people, and I know this is going to really happen. Sarah McLachlan sang, ‘I walk in the room everyone stops and stares, fame is my fiction’. I’m ready for that! I will be one of the actresses in a big-budget movie. I haven’t done much acting yet, but I know I am destined to be well-known.”

Savvy is glad to help Zarah reach another rung on the ladder of celebrity, but it is the voters in the contest who take the most satisfaction in seeing her launch a Hollywood career.


Savvy: How did you first learn about Savvy’s contest and how did it feel to win it?

Zarah: (Laughs) I’m not sure how I found out about it. I can’t remember. I stayed in that thing a year. I was, like, “Oh, it is SO my month this time!” And every month I got stiffed. I bet I was one of the few models in the top 3 for that long! (Laughs)

Savvy: Well, the patience paid off because you won the thing and here you are. Those roller skate shots are our favorites. Had you worn skates recently or did you break your neck trying to wear them?

Zarah: (Laughs) I thought I would be okay with them, but I was a mess! I put on the skates and had on that cute little outfit. As soon as I rolled out of the dressing room, it was as if I was on ice while wearing shoes! (Laughs) Walt had to catch me a couple of times. The shots that were standing up, I used a bench for leverage.

Savvy: Made us think of Heather Graham as Rollergirl in Boogie Nights.

Zarah: I got those skates at a Superbowl party in Detroit. I had to carry them around because the party closed at 2 a.m. I still wanted to party.

Savvy: You mentioned the name “Walt”, referring to Walt Ostarly, the photographer, who lives near you in Palm Beach, Fla.

Zarah: This was our 8^th shoot together. I guess it feels like being around family. We were just talking about assistants and agreed that no matter how cool that third person is, it still makes the model uncomfortable. I know I get my best pictures when no one’s there but me and the photographer, but I personally don’t care. I could have a room full of people and still shoot.

Savvy: Whatever you did, the shots are sexy.

Zarah: We had a hard time getting this shoot set up. Walt clicks away because I’m not a very static person. I bounce off the walls, and he gets these super-dynamic, amazing pictures.

Savvy: Have you ever posed nude?

Zarah: Yeah, for a submission to Playboy. I haven’t heard back from the editor yet. That’s the only company I’d do nude photos for because the brand is respectable.

Savvy: So your family would be cool with you bearing all for a magazine or a movie?

Zarah: Well, I am from a real Christian family and I am a Christian myself. I guess they would understand if I did Playboy because it is something I want to do. I’ve talked about it. I guess they know they could never stop me. They never were able to.

Savvy: Since you are going to be a big-time movie star, which leading man are you going to tell the studios you want to do a love scene with?

Zarah: Matthew McCoughnhey. I love the country boy thing. I’d love to be in movies opposite funny men like Owen Wilson, Ben Stiller or Will Farrell. I just love to laugh. I do parties and often see celebrities.

Savvy: Oh yeah? Care to drop a few names?

Zarah: Brandy the R&B singer, Dennis Rodman, lots of Hall of Famers come to mind.

Savvy: And when you make one of these famous actors fall in love with you, will it last more than 6 months? (Laughs) Do you think monogamy is even realistic, for celebrities or us mere mortals?

Zarah: I believe in monogamy 100%! When I am with someone, I don’t find anyone else attractive.

Savvy: Not even yourself? You don’t look at yourself naked in the mirror and wish you could do yourself?

Zarah: (Laughs) No, I’m not gay.

Savvy: Never experimented? Back in college? After a few glasses of wine? After some man broke your heart?

Zarah: Never.

Savvy: Moving along then, you do a lot of fitness modeling, right?

Zarah: Yes. I work out every day and I love being fit.

Savvy: Do you ever say to yourself, “Wow, I better not exercise today or I’m going to start looking like a dude”?

Zarah: (Laughs) I used to train for a lot of figure contests. I’ve done 5. The diet is so horrible and I’m the meanest, biggest bitch in the world! My ass was like a guy’s – no softness whatsoever! (Laughs) But seriously, not at all. You have to eat more to gain muscle on your shoulders. You have to have abs and get your legs cut.

Savvy: Think you could take me?

Zarah: Hell yeah! I’m so strong!

Savvy: Just be gentle as you rip my clothes off, Zarah. (Laughs)

Zarah: Some girls at clubs think they can mess with me since I’m smaller. I look at them and know I can take them on! I love that! Once this scrawny guy came up to my boyfriend and was shoving him. I knew my boyfriend couldn’t do anything because the guy was way smaller, so I stepped in a beat the guy up! (Laughs) I’ll remember that for a long time!

Savvy: (Nervous laugh) Yeah, beating up small people is fun.

Zarah: A lot of the models I find attractive are the fit ones who actually work out, eat right and look healthy. And for fitness, well, I’ve been working out for 6 years now. I have some muscle.

Savvy: What do you do for fun?

Zarah: I love to travel, work out, play golf, and eat at nice restaurants.

Savvy: And where should Owen Wilson take you for the perfect date?

Zarah: It would be singing with a local band, drinking some beers, playing pool, and eating a slice of pizza at the end.

Savvy: Within your monogamous heterosexual relationships, are you open-minded sexually?

Zarah: Totally open-minded. Lady on the street and... You know the rest. (Laughs) If I got married, I would never say no to anything, just hold back (Laughs). You can let men take you for granted – ever!

Savvy: Have you ever watched a porno?

Zarah: Yeah, I used to like them when I was younger and it was taboo to watch. I’m not interested in them anymore though.

Savvy: What do you find erotic or a turn-on these days?

Zarah: Respect. If a guy is disrespectful, that’s the biggest turn-off for me.

Savvy: A guy holding the door for you gets you wet? (Laughs)

Zarah: (Laughs) No, it’s the little things that add up: the little touches, the little notes, helping me in the car, making reservations, spending time with me if you don’t want anyone else to. I’m attracted to guys with personality and wit too.
