Behind this beautiful face and amazingly fit body, Savvy "Is She Hot?" contest winner Rabecca Lee is a sweet Southern girl at heart who has overcome a lot of obstacles to pursue a dream.
Models don't come any more down-to-earth than Rabecca, who was cutting up and joking in the make-up chair before her Savvy shoot. Her looks are misleading because by day she's a self-described "computer nerd," working as a network specialist.
She has appeared in Plush and Road Rash magazines, as well as ads for Skyy Fitness and Skooter Gear. She is an occasional event hostess, ring girl and bikini contest competitor. She won the Absolute Bikini contest and was a finalist at Miss Resaca Beach.
Getting to know her, we learned how she overcame early adversity and struggles to become a lady on a mission...
Savvy: The people who voted for you at Savvy know you are fun, funny and sexy, but they probably don't know much else about you. What can you tell us about, for example, your childhood?
Rabecca: I grew up very poor. I remember having to stand in lines as a child to get free food from different churches or services. It was so embarrassing. I now look back and realize that life wasn't easy for my parents. I praise my mom and dad for being so strong during those hard times. They both worked two jobs to earn money.
Savvy: That's interesting. What are your goals?
Rabecca: I have a "dream list" I would like to complete. I'm eager to put my nerdiness on the backburner and model full-time. I have a list of publications I would like to model for. I'd like to be a happily married full-time model, then finish my degree and become a lawyer.
Savvy: You're a mom, right?
Rabecca: Yes, I have two boys at home.
Savvy: Is it challenging to be a single mom AND model?
Rabecca: That is a hard task. I work 40-plus hours at my regular job, raise my boys and model part-time. It's a real challenge to find the time to model. But I have a great support system in place. My mom is my number one fan. She shows me support in every way she can, including watching my boys and running errands for me that I can't get to. My boyfriend is also very understanding and helps me with whatever needs to be done. I also have other great friends who step in and contribute when needed - That is the magic behind the scenes that allows me to model - what I always felt like I was never good enough or pretty enough to do. Modeling really means a lot to me.
Savvy: Little boys are a handful. So are big ones.
Rabecca: (Laughs) My boys are very active in sports, so all of the dads who are at games or practices go nuts when I show up.
Savvy: We bet! Have you heard every pickup line in the book?
Rabecca: I love them. They don't work on me, but some of them are so stupid they're laughable.
Savvy: What does a guy have to do on a first date to get a second date with you?
Rabecca: My boyfriend was a gentleman on our first date. He opened all of the doors and was polite, yet outgoing and fun. Oh, and he didn't try to get in my pants on the first date - some of you other guys should try that at least once! (Laughs) I think having strong emotions for someone is very important. There needs to be a connection there first. A guy should be sensitive and be willing to get to know a girl before expecting anything to happen.
Savvy: How does the guy get your motor running?
Rabecca: (Laughs) I don't usually need anything to get me in the mood, however - apple martinis and Keith Sweat music can certainly get things moving along. I love it when my boyfriend does the whole candles and dinner thing...
Savvy: Have you ever dated any guys who were pushy or creeps?
Rabecca: Yes! Almost all of my ex-boyfriends treated me like crap. A guy can never be too nice. I loved to be babied.
Savvy: Has a boyfriend ever paraded you around like a trophy or expected you to stop seeing your friends or going places without them?
Rabecca: Yes. In particular, an ex-bodybuilder who cheated on me. Most of the guys I've dated think they are God's gift to women.
Savvy: He cheated, eh? How did you find out?
Rabecca: We had a fight that day and I felt really bad about it, so I decided to take him to dinner and make peace. When I got to his house the front door was locked, so I went in through the basement... He came running out of the bedroom screaming, "Get out!" I then burst into the bedroom to find his ex-girlfriend fixing her clothes. I was not happy.
Savvy: What'd you do?
Rabecca: I kicked him to the curb. Doing anything "to get even" would have made me just as bad of a person as him.
Savvy: So do you now get insecure if a guy looks at other women?
Rabecca: I wouldn't be okay with my boyfriend going to a stripper. I'd rather him spend his extra money on me than stick it down some girl's underwear. (Laughs)
Savvy: Describe your dream man...
Rabecca: He is older than me, a terrific smile, incredible eyes, great hands, and has a good sense of humor. He spoils me when he can. Little things like making me sweet tea or bringing me a "blanky" when I need one mean a lot.
Savvy: You're really fit and you mentioned you dated an ex-bodybuilder. Does a guy have to be as "hot" as you? The Ken to your Barbie? Or is cute okay rather than handsome?
Rabecca: (Laughs) I work out three to five times a week and watch what I eat. A guy doesn't have to go to that extreme for me to consider him attractive, but I like a guy with a hot booty and cute face or hot face and cute booty... Either way.
Savvy: What kind of stuff are you into?
Rabecca: I love watching football. I'm a big fan of the University of Georgia Bulldogs. I like traveling, shopping and going to the spa.
Savvy: (Laughs) Do you have any interesting stories from modeling?
Rabecca: Sad to say, but I have had a few stalker photographers or guys that will pose as photographers in order to meet me. I've had to call the cops a few times and I'm a lot more careful now.
Savvy: Do you have any advice for the ISH contestants?
Rabecca: Don't give up. Your modeling dreams will happen. Be true to yourself and your fans.
Savvy: Thanks for talking to us, Rabecca. We hope you'll stick around and continue to be a valued friend of the Savvy community.
