That hard work is paying off for Shae with appearances in Maxim, Stuff, Health & Beauty, Lowrider, Import Tuner, Bonita, and RIX magazines just to name a few. Her promotional work includes Hot Import Nights, Bombshell Poker, Motek Mobile, and Amp’d Mobile.
“When I was 18, I was in the Miss Teen California pageant and was named Miss Photogenic out of 170 contestants,” she said. “But at the time, I really did not take advantage of the opportunity and put it on the backburner. I had a kid and then, just two years ago, I decided to put my portfolio together. I was busy, doing 3 or 4 trade-for-print shoots every weekend.”
Shae’s photographer was none other than former Xposed/Savvy Girl Somaya Reece, who is setting her own blazing trail behind the camera as well as in front of it.
“Somaya is extremely talented and very professional as a photographer,” Shae said. “Super nice and easy to work with. She had lots of ideas for the shots.”
Shae talked to Savvy about her late start in the modeling world and how she keeps monogamy sexy...
Savvy: Motherhood ends a lot of modeling careers, but yours seems to have gone the opposite direction.
Shae: I really believe that if you want something badly enough, you shouldn’t let anything get in the way. Never do anything half-assed. Just go for it! Of course, when I am not in front of a camera, I cherish spending time with my husband, daughter, sisters, and friends. My family is my first priority. If they weren’t, I would have gone back to school for my law degree and worked in the district attorney’s office.
Savvy: Are you really that smart?
Shae: I earned a degree in political science from the University of San Diego within 3 years. I worked for an advertising agency, a PR agency, then I was a proposal/business writer for a few companies. My second full-time job right now is being an associate environmental analyst.
Savvy: A what?
Shae: Basically, when we have a client that owns a large parcel of land -- 500 acres of whatever it may be -- and he or she wants to develop it residentially, commercially or have it as a biological preserve, it is my job to put together a team of biologists, archeologists, engineers, etc. to study the land, then help process what's called an environmental impact report to get it processed through the county. Most of my work is in the unincorporated areas of San Diego County.
Savvy: So I need to remove the ancient indian burial grounds before I call you? (Laughs) Just kidding. Man, that's smart. You should run for president or dog catcher or something, girl!
Shae: (Laughs) I was president of the College Democrats.
Savvy: There ya go! Since you're a working mom now, have you switched teams?
Shae: Naw. Not a member of Bush’s fan club for sure. I don’t think I will ever change no matter how much money I make.
Savvy: (Laughs) How have you been so successful at making money as a model?
Shae: I’ve just gotten lucky to have worked with the right people. I’m also smart about my career decisions. Some people believe you’ve got to take EVERY job offer you get, but I think sometimes, you’ve still got to be a little picky. It’s so easy to get caught up in the wrong things.
Savvy: What jobs have you turned down?
Shae: Well... (Laughs) I won’t name any names, but I’ve turned down cheesy soft-porn wannabe stuff. I think every model gets those kinds of offers and some are smart enough to decline them.
Savvy: How do you beat the competition?
Shae: I’m lucky enough to have a very unique look. So many models lose jobs because they’re flaky. They don’t really want it badly enough. THOSE are the models that have to worry about competition because there’s always another girl ready and willing to take their place!
Savvy: You do a lot of import scene work, don’t you?
Shae: In the last year, yes. I’ve done some import mags, but get this – no import car shows! Crazy, huh? (Laughs)
Savvy: Can I ask you some sexy questions?
Shae: Sure! I hardly get offended. I’m a Democrat, remember?
Savvy: How do you keep married sex interesting?
Shae: Be creative. Don’t do the same thing every night. My pictures are just the beginning. If you can use your imagination, I’m sure you can tell I’m a lot of fun in the bedroom. That’s my natural habitat. I love to play sexually. My husband is one lucky guy! I’m not into anything rough, but the dressing up is a lot of fun! So is acting things out sometimes!
Savvy: Your fantasy?
Shae: Umm... Maybe me with another girl. I’m not bi, maybe bi-curious. I’ve never kissed another girl, but you can bet I’ve thought about it a thousand times!
Savvy: As a threesome with your husband?
Shae: I think just me and the girl. But she has to be a hot blonde. I’m a sucker for blondes! Pam Anderson, Carmen Electra... Is Carmen considered a blonde?
Savvy: Okay, that’s your fantasy. Tell us how you spice things up in reality when you're lying in bed with this same person you're with every other night.
Shae: Great sex is about the overall connection between the two people. As far as specific things to do, I like variety. I don’t really have a favorite sexual position. I like to change it up a lot.
Savvy: And size?
Shae: Size does matter to me. It doesn’t have to be big. It just has to be the right fit. I have heard of some guys who are too large and have difficulty holding onto girlfriends because they too big down there! (Laughs) Finding your perfect lover is kind of like puzzle pieces. You find the right partner you fit with. If the guy’s too small and the woman is too loose, then neither will gain any pleasure out of it.
Savvy: You seem to know a lot about sex... with your one guy.
Shae: I am sexual. I’m a huge fan of oral sex! I don’t think that skill can be taught. It’s something that comes natural. Sex is natural. Some people watch porn, but that doesn’t teach us how to be better at sex. It just helps to get you in the mood for it. And maybe it gives you some pointers on new positions to try, but that’s about it.
Savvy: Your daughter is 12 now. If she looks like you, boys are already looking to hook up with her. Have you two had “the talk”?
Shae: I’m very open with my daughter about everything! I answer each and every question she asks me. When she was 7, she asked what the “F” word meant and I told her it means to have sex. I’ve always given her the freedom of speech. She knows that when she is at home she can express her feelings with any words she feels are necessary.
Savvy: How old were you when you lost your virginity?
Shae: Seventeen. It was horrible. Painful. Then a month later, I was thinking, “Oh no, he’s going to want to have sex again!” (Laughs)
Savvy: I presume it got better. Ever had sex in public?
Shae: Hasn’t everyone? I’ve done it in a car, in a club, at the beach, at a park, driving on the 5 South... Hmm, there are more places but I can’t think of them all right now... Oh, yeah, on an airplane! All with my husband. See, he’s a lucky guy!
Savvy: (Laughs) You had sex while driving?!
Shae: Yes. It was night-time. I had the steering wheel at my back. Makes the trip go faster and more fun!
Savvy: Gives new meaning to the term “stick shift.” (Laughs) If you were not married, what kind of guy would get to drive you around?
Shae: A guy who can make me laugh and someone I can be myself in front of. I love comedians too. Men should be funny and original when trying to meet women. Other important things are confidence, witty conversation, thoughtfulness, a good heart, people who are down-to-earth and happy with who they are.
Savvy: Any advice for men wanting to find the girl of their dreams?
Shae: Play an instrument for her or sing – but only if you have a good voice. Write her a poem, cook her a nice dinner. Be creative and do something memorable for her.
Savvy: And what’s the last thing you did for your man?
Shae: I bought him tickets to see the Red Sox play in Anaheim. Special things for guys are different than special things for girls. (Laughs)
Savvy: Well, your hubby sounds like one lucky dude. Thanks for the sexy pictorial and interview.
Shae: You’re most welcome.
