Ginger S. is the real deal, an honest to goodness girl next door from Small Town America.
But she recently left the comforts of home to seize opportunities in the "big city", becoming a waitress at a Hooter's restaurant while pursuing her dreams of fame in show business.
"It's just crazy," she said of her new zip code in Atlanta. "Everything is so busy here. I like it so far. I had my first traffic accident the other day. I'm gradually getting used to things. Of course, I would move to New York or Los Angeles to pursue my goals. When I know what I want, I go for it. Atlanta is just a stepping stone for me, a way to introduce myself to the city. I have to take baby steps."
Savvy readers will recognize Ginger from her months in the Top Contestants list of the "Is She Hot?" contest. We sat down with the heavily-accented petite beauty to talk about modeling, sex and running down a dream...
Savvy: Are you on the market, as they say? Wink, wink, nudge, nudge...
Ginger: I've been dating the same guy for 3 years now. He's a musician.
Savvy: Too bad. Er, I mean, great!
Ginger: He's the sweetest guy. I came home for our anniversary and he had a candlelit dinner set up, candles all over the floor and roses everywhere. He wrote and sang a song for me about us and our home and our dogs.
Savvy: Guys like that make the rest of us look lazy. Does he ever get jealous when he sees other guys lusting after you?
Ginger: No, not at all.
Savvy: You're a NOPI girl, one of those hotties who walk around at the car shows in skimpy outfits while guys whistle catcalls at them. That can't be easy on a guy when the babe under the microscope is his girlfriend.
Ginger: If he does get jealous, he doesn't tell me, but I don't think so. He's proud of me. I'm still a NOPI chick. It's just so much fun and crazy. I get to meet so many people. There are lots of hot girls in bikinis and plenty of guys looking.
Savvy: Do cars turn you on?
Ginger: Only if they kick ass!
Savvy: Do you get hit on by your customers at Hooters?
Ginger: (Laughs) Some of them do. I just laugh, smile and say "thank you". I may flirt back a little. It just depends on whether it is a funny, interesting person.
Savvy: You worked in a tattoo shop for a while. Do you go for guys with lots of tattoos?
Ginger: There's just something so hot about a guy with tattoos. I don't mean any old tattoo, but a real piece of art. That's sexy!
Savvy: Do you have any concealed tattoos that only your man gets to see?
Ginger: No, mine are pretty visible. I don't have many.
Savvy: You want to become an actress, right?
Ginger: Yes. I'm starting an acting class soon.
Savvy: You do implied nudes, but you don't fully reveal your body in pictures. Is that a moral issue or because of wanting to act?
Ginger: I've thought about modeling for Playboy, but I decided to stay away from anything more than implied nudity because I want to get started in acting.
Savvy: Not that you aren't perfect already, but do you think breast implants would help you at auditions or getting more modeling jobs?
Ginger: I have thought about it, but I'm just going to stay the way I am. I am too scared they won't look right after I get them done. I wouldn't want to regret it.
Savvy: Are there any celebrities you look up to or people say you resemble?
Ginger: Some have said I look like Sophia Loren. That's a huge compliment because she's so beautiful! As far as actresses, Rachel McAdams is my favorite.
Savvy: Are you going to quit modeling as soon as you start acting?
Ginger: Modeling is a stepping stone to trying to get signed with a commercial agency that will promote me. I would really love to be on "Saturday Night Live" one day. I love making people laugh. That would be fun. I'm working on my accent, but I don't want to totally lose it. I believe anyone can make their dreams come true as long as they work hard at it. Nothing is impossible.
Savvy: Nothing except me sleeping with Heidi Klum. I've given up on that dream. (Laughs) What sort of things do you have coming up?
Ginger: I just finished 9 days of shooting a reality TV show in Las Vegas. I competed against 39 other models at "Best of the Best 3". It's like "American Idol" except with models and photographers. Everyone tries to get the best photos so we can win the $10,000 prize.
Savvy: Sounds fun. Vegas, baby!
Ginger: I was really nervous about it. There were a lot of hot girls competing, but I made the first cut and ended up as one of the top 10. We find out who won it in June at a premiere party in Atlanta.
Savvy: Hot women in Las Vegas? Who ever heard of such a thing? (Laughs) Vegas is a totally different world from where you grew up. Did you ever feel restless about the place where you grew up?
Ginger: I love my hometown, but there's so much more out there in the world. I always love to go home though, especially when I can see my boyfriend.
Savvy: You're previously divorced. Do tell...
Ginger: I was just way too young. I was 19. At first, I wanted to grow up and get married, and then I did. Then I was, like, "No way! I have so much I want to accomplish first!"
Savvy: Any tips for the guys on pleasing their girlfriends and wives?
Ginger: The best present year-round is to always pay attention to your woman. We don't like to have to tell guys what we want. We want them to figure it out! (Laughs)
Savvy: In bed, you mean?
Ginger: Yes. Make sure the girl is turned on. Give her a massage or kiss her neck. Don't jump the gun. Being in love with someone makes for great sex. Pay Attention! Listen to her. She'll probably give you hints about what she wants.
Savvy: I want a decoder ring so I don't have to work so hard to figure out what women actually mean. (Laughs)
Ginger: That's just how it works. Guys marry women hoping they never change and women marry men hoping they WILL change. We are just opposites. (Laughs)
Savvy: You seem so sweet and innocent. What's the wildest thing you've ever done?
Ginger: When I was younger, I dated this guy and wanted to do something sexy for him. So I set up a chair outside and we had sex in the chair, in the rain, like a fantasy.
Savvy: And you got electrocuted?
Ginger: It wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be. I guess because I wasn't in love with the guy or anything. Having that emotional connection makes sex better. Girls are more touchy feely, whereas guys are more visual. That's why we like to be turned on before sex. You know, rub us and kiss us. A guy can just look at a girl and be turned on, but it's not that way for us girls.
Savvy: Well, here's hoping you and your boyfriend make some sparks this Valentine's Day. Best of luck with the career stuff too.
Ginger: Thanks. I am so excited to be a Savvy Girl. I love the site and all of my friends at Savvy!
