You are Ethan Thomas and you are the last resort to save what is left of a twisted blood-drenched city.  As the last resort there is no negotiating, no reasoning, JUST KILLING!

First note to make about - 'Condemned 2 - Blood Shot' - is that it is not, and I repeat NOT, a game for children.  Monolith has taken the level of gore and violence from its predecessor - 'Condemned - Criminal Origins' - and created a sequel where the player literally has total control over how an enemy can be disposed of, whether it be by crushing their skull with a metal baseball bat, ramming their head through a TV, or impaling them on rebar.

You are Ethan Thomas, a disgraced former FBI agent, with a penchant  for the hard stuff in which to drown your sorrows.  In a rare moment of sobriety, you learn that the city, a dark and twisted hell of a place, is on the brink of destruction unless you stop it.  Yes, you.  And as most know, when Ethan Thomas is asked to step in, the problem at hand must be a very serious problem indeed.

As the player progresses through various stages of the game, new sinister twists and plots are uncovered in a quest to investigate who (or what) is behind the destruction of the city, all against the backdrop of a variety of different environments, from city landscapes, run-down factories, and more isolated areas such as a forest.  The one feature that links all of the stages in the game together is that they are full of mentally insane / enraged foes; either they die or you die, and thanks to Monolith's efforts to make the environment useable as a weapon, the choice is quite simple and in some areas, quite satisfying.

Each player has a very wide variety of weapons to choose from ranging from his own fists to baseball bats, steel pipes, exploding baby dolls and of course automatic pistols and rifles.  However as each player progresses through the game, they will discover that the use and availability of the average melee weapon is more convenient than a pistol or a shotgun as ammunition is very hard to come by.  To further add to the intensity of the game, Monolith has boosted the quality of graphics of just about everything from the dark environments to the blood squirts from cracking the enemy's skull open.  Enemy AI has also been increased to the point where their attack patterns are random, forcing the player to anticipate the enemy's next move, and they also know when to hide and can hear your footsteps when walking on creaky floors resulting in sudden and quick attacks.

Sound quality within the game is superb.  Every sound from your footsteps to the dark sickening screams of your foes has been created to a near realistic quality which makes game play within Condemned 2 an experience to remember.  The only negative feature about this game is multiplayer, when compared to playing in single player mode, is pretty much useless save for the crime scene mode.

Savvy Scores

Overall 'Condemned 2 - Blood Shot' has earned a great score of 8.5 out of 10 from me.  If your the type of game player that enjoys the thrill of a classic horror game with excellent graphics, sound and a feeling of horror and suspense that will make your hair stand then I definitely recommend this game for you.
