Savvy Searching for the Million Dollar Woman
Savvy is looking for the Million Dollar Woman. Past 'Is She Hot?' contest winners like the three pictured here are competing against the 11 other winners from their year of victory for a single finalist spot in Sydney.
Mirror, Mirror, on the wall… Who’s the fairest of them all?
Perhaps she’s a student from Sydney, a housewife from Beijing, a mother of three in Toronto, a career woman in London, or the girl next door from Kansas? The most beautiful woman in the world is out there somewhere, and Savvy is on a year-long quest to find her.
‘What’s in it for her?’ we hear you ask, a note of skepticism in your voice.
How about worldwide fame and one million in cold, hard American cash?
Your interest, now, should be officially piqued.
The hunt is on with Savvy.com’s Search for the Million Dollar Woman, planet Earth’s largest, most democratic search to find the person who captures the hearts and eyes of Savvy’s millions of international readers.
For many aspiring models around the globe, Savvy.com has provided a safe, free way to get their start and build a fan base -- the “Is She Hot?” online beauty contest. Now even more women are discovering this resource as a way to get tremendous exposure on the Internet without having to, ahem, expose themselves.
Each month in 2008, contestants will match their looks and wits against others for the prize of a professional photo shoot and featured interview, along with a semifinalist spot that guarantees them a 1-in-16 shot at becoming a millionaire. Those lucky and special enough to make it to Sydney, Australia in February 2009 will live in a house together and be filmed for a reality TV show about the contest.
Savvy Digital Limited CEO Jonathan Gravenor said there is no judging panel, celebrity judges or editorial input into who makes the final event.
“This is 100% the public verdict of Savvy readers,” he said.
Originally launching in 2004 as Xposed.com, Savvy.com relaunched Jan. 1st with a revamping of the “Is She Hot?” voting system with the Search for the Million Dollar Woman in mind.
“The contest links closely with our active social network Savvy Nation, letting voters interact with contestants regularly. This creates a level playing field where the girl next door can compete with professional models on equal terms and frequently win. Voters get to know entrants’ personalities in depth and judge based on more than just looks. Savvy readers believe a woman is beautiful when she is being herself – fun, approachable, smart, confident, sexy, and vivacious,” Gravenor said.
Savvy readers now rate contestants based equally on looks AND personality, making it more important than ever for the women to make their presence known by interacting with Savvy readers in blogs, video blogging, and messaging.
Can an everyday woman really compete against professional models? Experience shows she can if she has the right combination of beauty, personality and persistence.
“My road to victory and finally winning was a long one, but thankfully, my fans and friends on Savvy stuck it out with me and inspired me to hang on,” said Feb. 2007 winner Summer Alexis, a mother of three whose day job is working as a senior analyst for the University of California.
“My Savvy feature article has gained me plenty of exposure and directed viewers to my web site. I feel that Savvy is a wonderful and safe environment for a model to promote herself and establish a fan base. I’ve made many friends on Savvy, and everyone has been very supportive of other online contests I’ve entered,” she added.
“Is She Hot?” winner Melissa Collins agreed. She makes her living selling houses, but she is adored by millions who’ve enjoyed her sideline of posing for cameras.
“You get to show off your personality. I’ve gotten more compliments at Savvy for being nice than how I look. If you have a respect for other people and reply when they take the time to send you a message, they really, truly appreciate it. A lot of people appreciate the value of you just being a real person,” Collins said.
